On Tuesday night, the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Cleveland Guardians 3-1 in ALCS Game 2 at Tropicana Field. Tampa Bay tied the best-of-seven series at 1-1 and shifts the ALCS to Cleveland for Game 3 on Thursday night.
Freddy Peralta worked six scoreless innings for the Rays. He allowed four singles, walked two, and struck out six in the longest postseason start of his career. Parker Messick held Tampa Bay to six hits over five innings for Cleveland. Three unearned runs still scored against the rookie left-hander in the fourth inning.
That rally began when Ben Williamson hit a grounder that third baseman José Ramírez misplayed. Victor Mesa Jr. scored the first run. Liam Hicks followed with a two-run single to right-center and made it 3-0. Cleveland pulled within 3-1 in the seventh on Chase DeLauter's RBI double. Ian Seymour and closer Bryan Baker closed out the win for Tampa Bay.
The Milwaukee Brewers visit the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday in NLCS Game 3 at Dodger Stadium. First pitch is 8 p.m. Eastern on FS1. Milwaukee leads the series 2-0 after winning the first two games at American Family Field.
Left-hander Robert Gasser is scheduled to start for the Brewers. Blake Snell is expected to start for the Dodgers with Los Angeles needing a win to avoid a 3-0 series deficit.
