The Milwaukee Brewers moved two wins from the World Series on Monday, beating the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-4 in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series at American Family Field.
Contreras and Turang
William Contreras went 3-for-4 with three RBIs. He singled home a run in the first, hit a 436-foot home run off Kris Bubic to tie the game in the fifth, and singled home the go-ahead run in the sixth. Brice Turang had two hits and scored three runs.
How the lead changed
Yoshinobu Yamamoto lasted 2⅔ innings, his shortest postseason start, and allowed three runs. The Dodgers led three times, the last of them 4-3 after two runs in the fifth. Milwaukee tied it in that inning, took the lead in the sixth, and added two runs in the eighth.
The Brewers’ bullpen then retired 15 consecutive batters. JoJo Romero got the win. Aaron Ashby recorded the save. Los Angeles finished with three hits. Shohei Ohtani and Will Smith went hitless.
Milwaukee leads the series 2-0. Game 3 is in Los Angeles.
